The Venerable Canon Brough Maltby (29 September 1826 – 30 March 1894〔Bath Chronicle and Weekly Gazette - Thursday 05 April 1894, p.6. Maltbie, by the authority of the Maltby associates, 1916〕 ==Family== Brough Maltby was born in London in 1826, the son of Charles Langley Maltby (1816 – 1858) and Mary Watson, but his family moved to Southwell very shortly thereafter. He was educated at Southwell Minster School and was a chorister in the choir of Southwell Minster. He went on to St. John's College, Cambridge and graduated in 1850 with BA, and 1853 as MA. He married Isabella Chadwick, daughter of John Chadwick of Oakwood, Rochdale, on 24 October 1850.
